About Me

Sasha Keawe was born and raised in Kona on the big island of Hawaii. She graduated in 2004 from Konawaena high school and continued on to the University of California at Santa Cruz where she majored in psychology and minor in legal studies. After returning home, she worked in the mental health field for several years before attending UH Manoa to complete a masters degree in social work. She has worked at Child and Family Services, The Salvation Army women’s way, Kahuku Medical Center, and for the Department of Education as a Behavioral Health Specialist. In her current role as a BHS, she has worked at Kupa’a Academy servicing students K through 12 with the most intensive behavioral needs in the public school setting.

SASHA has a special interest in anger management. She has been working closely with students and parents in the middle and high school settings for five years. Currently, she is a licensed social worker in the state of Hawaii.

In 2014 she met the love of her life, Kalani Keawe. They have three kids and live on the island of Oahu.

Toyama Therapy Co. was created in 2024 and will begin taking a limited number of clients later this year. TTC will offer telehealth services for 12 to 18 year olds with a focus in anger and anxiety. About the author

With a mother who taught alternative learning students and a father who was an internal medicine physician, Sasha Keawe learned the importance of preventive care from an early age and developed a passion for working with kids facing challenges. After graduating from the University of California at Santa Cruz with a major in psychology and legal studies, she returned to Hawaii to attend UH Manoa, where she earned a Master’s degree in Social Work.
